Online nhs pension retirement age resources and information

It would be great if we could all retire with a nice portfolio of savings and pension income, without having to worry about paying the bills most retired people pay.

Yet...many retirees are living out their retirement on the breadline without much hope for even going on holiday without being assisted by relatives or even handouts. Don't let yourself be one of them...it's never too late!

Title : Roth to Riches: The Ordinary to Roth Ira Handbook
Author : John D. Bledsoe
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Informative and Easy to Understand!!!

Roth to Riches is a must read for anyone who has ever considered or currently owns an IRA. Written in plain, understandable English (my native tongue), Mr. Bledsoe demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of both the ordinary and the Roth IRA's. In this book, unlike other books that are also written in my native tongue but which make me wonder if English is in fact my native tongue, Mr. Bledsoe displays a unique ability to explain technical tax and financial planning concepts with candor and clarity. This book is interesting, informative and easy to understand. A bargain at this price. Thanks for the insights.

Title : Invest in Yourself: Six Secrets to a Rich Life
Author : Marc Eisenson
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : small technics make big differences

It only took me 30 seconds to buy the book after I scan the titles of the chapters in a fantasitic bookstore in middle Taiwan...all matter to me even if I am a Taiwanese who's so different from those who are supposed to read it.The subject is so universal that, after wandering among the shelves for hours with limited budgets, I decided to take it. The book provides us with so many tips and give us so many substantial thoughts and agendas that a man has to take to make himself rich, materially and spiritually. I am so amazed that, even books about the same subjects in the books are countless, this is a real DIFFERENT book which is written on basis of the authurs' financial expertise and their ideas of helping people, withour meaningless preach and crabbs. This book is a real life bible. I am so glad that I have it.

Title : Get a Life: You Don't Need a Million to Retire Well (Get a Life: You Don't Need a Million to Retire Well)
Author : Ralph E. Warner
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Excellent Contrarian Viewpoint

This book should be required reading for anyone who thinks about retirement, from those just starting out in their 20's and 30's to those nearing retirement. The book is a refreshing, contrarian view to the conventional wisdom of "save tons of money for retirement", "you'll need 70-100% of your current income in retirement", etc., etc., etc. The traditional retirement literature is focused almost exclusively on money, with which Warner takes exception.

Warner's focus is on the whole person - he makes a very compelling argument that money is a FACTOR in a good retirement, but that it is also important to cultivate health, outside interests, friendships and family. He believes these latter factors have a FAR greater influence on a successful retirement than money. He bases this viewpoint on research among those enjoying active, successful retirements.

Warner is not a Pollyanna, saying not to even think about retirement savings (as some critics seem to suggest). The book contains some common sense ideas on savings and admits that having SOME money may help. Warner's point, however, is that money alone isn't going to make you have a successful retirement if you neglected your family, friends, outside interests, spirituality and health in order to get the money.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who ever thinks about retirement. You may not agree with the proposition, but the book will really help expand your view of the elements of a good retirement and may help you plan a more enjoyable life.

Title : Mrs. Ted Bliss
Author : Stanley Elkin
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A Miami widow's quirky odyssey of the heart.

Mrs. Ted Bliss is a widowed woman in a polyester pant suit living her last years in a Miami Beach condominium. When a local drug kingpin buys her dead husband's car, it triggers a remarkable chain of events that brings Mrs. Bliss face-to-face with the premises of her life as a dutiful wife. The authenticity that Elkin brings to Mrs. Bliss' inner dialogue and his characters' speech was so humorous and touching that I frequently had to collar somebody so I could read them the passages out loud. If you like to find the extraordinary in "ordinary" lives, if you have an ear for language, please give yourself and treat and pick up this book.

Title : Moving Mom and Dad!: Why, Where, How, and When to Help Your Parents Relocate (Revised)
Author : Sarah Morse
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Easy to read and cope with the issue of a life-changing move

I am a professional that works in the healthcare world and found the knowledge presented by the authors to be quality. They know this area--seniors and the angst of moving from a home and habits of years. Reading this first and then making the choices will be a much easier path to take for many people. Our healthcare system is sometimes complex and confusing and to have a resource such as this can help clear things up. There were some excellent tools provided along with good advice. I enjoyed reading it and will keep it as a reference when my husband and I have to think about this for our own parents. I gave my mother the book for her birthday--she loved it!

Title : Mrs. Ted Bliss
Author : Stanley Elkin
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Skip this one

This is the first book we read for our book club and only three people made it all the way through. Most people gave up after the first chapter. I read the story and found it to be extremely boring and found the synopsis on the back of the cover to be very deceiving. I expected Dorothy to become an exciting person who would be involved in exciting adventures, instead the story dragged on until the climax - the tornado at which point I had given up all hope of redemption for the book.

Title : Pension Reform: Issues and Prospect for Non-financial Defined Contribution (NDC) Schemes
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : World Bank Academic book

For much of the past years most of the issues related pension has been about funding and many system as move from pay-as-you-go towards individual accounts.
In the past decade, however, several European countries have been trying out a new system of pension based on notional defined contribution by workers.
This is a very heavy book related to this topic.
