Online ill health retirement nhs resources and information

It would be great if we could all retire with a nice portfolio of savings and pension income, without having to worry about paying the bills most retired people pay.

Yet...many retirees are living out their retirement on the breadline without much hope for even going on holiday without being assisted by relatives or even handouts. Don't let yourself be one of them...it's never too late!

Title : Brilliant Deductions
Author : Wade B. Cook
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : An excellent "awareness" book!

"Brillant Deductions" makes people aware that you have the ability to take control of many broadbased pitfalls such as taxes, liabilities, and probate. It offers strategies that reduces risk in all these areas. Like anything else, seek advise from professionals before pursuing any strategy.

Title : The 401(k) Millionaire: How I Started with Nothing and Made a Million and You Can, Too
Author : Knute Iwaszko
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Just Great!

I write as a retired individual who started investing toward the end of my career. When I was young I was advised to save $20 a month, but to someone who was earning $27.50 a week it was not in the cards. Much later when my company came out with a plan to match up to 10% of my contribution I started saving. Unfortunately travel enticed me more and I routinely dipped into these funds. With all of this, I was still, in retrospect and un-knowingly, following his plan. It does work. Too bad for me, that I did not have sufficient discipline and was not satisfied with reading about "Far-away Places". All in all, everything worked out for the best. Give it a chance and you will be very pleased with the results. Way to go Knute!

Title : You've Earned It, Don't Lose It: Mistakes You Can't Afford to Make When You Retire
Author : Suze Orman
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Must read for anyone concerned with his/her estate.

Superbly written. Easy to read. Explains, in simple terms, trusts, investments, estate taxes, and things you MUST know as long before you approach retirment. Lays out some things you can't afford not to do. Best $10-$15 you ever spent. Could return payment in thousands.

Title : Get a Life: You Don't Need a Million to Retire Well
Author : Ralph E. Warner
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : One of the best all round books on retirement planning!

As a Certified Financial Planner, I recommend this book to many of my clients who are seriously planning their retirements. Warner has done a great job putting things in the proper perspective with a book that is an "easy read". While adequate money is important to a satisfactory retirement (and helping clients build a satisfactory net worth is how I make my living), I do find, as has Warner, that there are more important things such as health, friends, and a purpose (i.e., reasons to get up in the morning) when it comes to planning out one's retirement. I frequently ask clients what they plan to do when they retire. When they say "go fishing" or "play golf", I then ask them what they plan to do the second week/month/year. And I keep asking the question until they realize that its a serious one. Warner takes it further with discussion and clear examples. In short, a must read for anyone approaching retirement.

Title : How to Retire Rich: Time-Tested Strategies to Beat the Market and Retire in Style
Author : James P. O'Shaughnessy
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : I am buying one of these books for each member of my family.

As an avid reader and a novice investor I could not put the book down. The information was clear and very understandable. I immediately went on line and was able to pull up the 50 stocks I will be using for Reasonable Runaways. My goal was to self manage my 401k. This has given me the tools to do so. I'm in it for the long term so will let you know in 25 years how the strategy worked. I feel strongly enough about the concept to share it with all my friends and family. Wouldn't it be fun to grow wealthy together???

I have also read "What Works on Wall Street". If you must chose between the two "How to Retire Rich" is the better book in my opinion. "What Works" does provide reinforcement of the ideas if that is important to you.
