People spend their entire lifetimes working to amass wealth, but forget about protecting it. I bump into people every day who still think a will is enough---ENT! I also recommend Financial Self Defense and More Wealth without Risk by Givens. Suze's book is newer, but Givens offers techniques that work well with the information in this book.

At last, a book about pensions and retirement planning which is
comprehensive, easy to read, and easy to understand. This is a complex subject area which Stephen Womack handles deftly, reinforcing key points with exmaples which help you to understand the issue. I particularly liked the chapter headings which as well as giving chapter content information, also give guidance on the relevance of the chapter to your own situation 'read this chapter if .............'.

I just finished Harry Crews's _Celebration_. It's a Crews Cruise (TM) freak show, complete with stump-humpin', granny-drownin', Turkey suckin' good ole bad ole boys and girls, which incidentally answers the zen koan "What should you do if you meet the Buddha on the road and she offers to have outrageous sex with you?"

He acknowledges that poor health or a disability may be a factor to contend with, and gives good advice about how to cope with some of these problems.

His sound recommendations are: keep healthy physically and emotionally, look at how ageing affects the body and the mind, make sure you are safe, care for your appearance, and maybe even reassess your sex life.

Summary : Every woman's book on pitfalls in planning: Read this FIRST!

I grabbed this book on impulse, knowing that I have a bad track record with money management subjects. I thought it would be laying around gathering dust for awhile...

Was I surprised when I started reading the first page and then plowed right through it in 1-1/2 nights! So easy to read and understand. (The Wall St. Journal series, with all their glitzy colored pictures couldn't do what Suze did with her real-life stories as examples.) Maybe it's the woman's touch, but she got through to me. The whole picture of retirement issues and planning became clear.

I highly recommend this as a first book for financial planning -- it's NOT JUST ABOUT RETIREMENT, it's more about protecting women by arming them with vital information... every woman should READ THIS BOOK BEFORE MAKING ANOTHER DECISION involving money (or before someone makes one for her).

I do taxes. I have been a "tax professional," working for a reputable CPA firm, for eighteen years.

I imagine that most people think that we always read the most obscure laws, regulations and treatises on tax subjects before we make our decisions and recommendations. The fact is that most professionals are delighted to find publications which make good information easy to find. This book does that.

"How to Take Your Money Out" gives thorough coverage to a very complicated subject. Equally important is that it is almost enjoyable to read and that finding what you are looking for is easy. It is well organized and well indexed. When I looked for answers, I found them, on the first shot.

There are plenty of people, both professionals and taxpayers, who are wondering what to do about IRA and other retirement plan distributions. Having this book on the shelf will give you confidence that you'll know where to look when you need the answers.

This book is certainly a practical how-to manual on a subject, that would be all to easy to not consider. However, when the inevitable reality intrudes,this book allows you to begin to address an uncomfortable subject; in a very non-threatening, calm, and clear fasahion.While it is probably worth its purchase alone for its organizational approach and practical check lists. Its humor, warmth and a sense of the authors passion for thier subject matter made it for me, priceless.As an individual, who recalls only yesterday it seems, requesting the family car with some trepidation; hoping to cage a free tank of gas and not be given a curfew .The prospect of again asking for the keys, for an entirely diffrent reason was very disheartning. At least now I have some sense on how to approach these subjects with everyones dignity intact, and the continued respect of my parents. Additionaly, this book will have you consideringhow you will avoid all of these complications with your own family, when you become the subjects in the books title.
