early life retirement rule sipp suffolk

early life retirement rule sipp suffolk

Online early life retirement rule sipp suffolk resources and information

It would be great if we could all retire with a nice portfolio of savings and pension income, without having to worry about paying the bills most retired people pay.

Yet...many retirees are living out their retirement on the breadline without much hope for even going on holiday without being assisted by relatives or even handouts. Don't let yourself be one of them...it's never too late!

Title : The Automatic Millionaire: A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich
Author : David Bach
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Won't suit everyone but good for what it is...

The Automatic Millionaire outlines a method of becoming rich through a combination of scrimping and saving - despite its dynamic, exciting title, that really is all there is to it. The "automatic" part is no more than advising the reader to set up standing orders, direct debits or deductions from monthly wages, straight into a savings account (so you're not tempted to spend it). That's it.

The outlined strategy will work IF you start young enough. The examples given assume the aspiring millionaire is in their early 20s - plenty of time to make GBP1m through the power of compound interest - but too late for many people.

My main disappointment with the book is that the strategy outlined is for the long-run (40-50 years) so you'll be about 65 when you make that million. For anyone looking for a faster alternative, this isn't it. If you are (or know someone) who is 15-25 years old, I would recommend you get this book and follow its strategy (about savings in particular, not sure I agree with the pensions advice). Doing so will virtually guarantee financial security upon retirement. But if you want a strategy that delivers faster-returns, look elsewhere.

However, regardless of your age, the book outlines sensible (and widely-known) principles of personal money management so it's valuable for those who have no idea where to begin. But if you're already pretty savvy about "paying yourself first" and watching the pennies, you will get limited value from this book.

Title : Murder in Retirement: A Laura Michaels Mystery
Author : John Miles
Rating : 2 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Amusing but not riveting; too "cutesy."

Murder in Retirement was amusing but not really spell-binding. The author went a little "over-the-top" on many of the characters (the actors, Maude, etc.) in that they were stereotypes of stereotypes, not well-developed individuals. The plot was satisfactory, but some loose ends did not get tied up at the end and the final wrap-up was much longer than necessary. He could focus more on the elaboration of the main characters, Laura and Aaron. An o.k. escapist read.

Title : The Baby Boomer Financial Wake-up Call: It's Not Too Late to Financially Secure!
Author : Kay R. Shirley
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : I used the book to motivate my parents to plan

I like the real world examples. I really felt as if I could apply the techniques to my life. I liked the author's personal interjections. It made her more credible.

Title : 100 Best Retirement Businesses
Author : Lisa A. Rogak
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Now you're retired; let's go to work for fun and profit.

Are you retiring and want to start life over as a musician, a mystery writer, a candlemaker? Lisa Angowski Rogak, with David H. Bangs, Jr., has interviewed these and more to find out the pros and cons of being a clown, potter, herbalist, boatbuilder and ninety other some-odd retirement occupations, in 100 Best Retirement Businesses (Upstart, $15.95). All these people had a previous life, so they also have the perspective to see how difficult taking on a new, self-employed challenge might be.

Title : You Can Retire: While You're Still Young Enough to Enjoy It
Author : Les Abromovitz
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Entertaining, easy to read - I'm ready to start my plan now!

I never thought anyone could write about how to retire early in an entertaining way. Along with great financial planning advice, the book is filled with anecdotes that make you realize that early retirement is feasible without sacrificing your current lifestyle. I enjoyed the "Seinfeld" and "Dilbert" references that made the advice easier to understand and digest. If you don't want to get up at 6:00 a.m. every morning until you're 65 or older, this is the book to read."

Title : Invest and Grow Rich: Five Universal Rules for Unlimited Wealth Creation
Author : Richard Charlton
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Excelent book for anybody interested in long term investing

This book is particularly interesting for Canadian investors who are interested in long term investing strategies that will yield excelent returns. As a beginner in the field of investing, after finished reading the book, I really felt like somebody turned on the light and showed me the way. Written in plain English, with lots of clearly understandable examples writer leads you through the five principles of investing in which he trully belives and that are all based on pure common sense. If you are realtively young person and are interested in investing on a long term basis so that you can safely retire (even early) without fear that your lifesavings will outlive you, this book is for you.

Title : Winning the Money Game Made Easy: Building Assets and Wealth for Your Future
Author : Bradley L. Gummow
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Comprehensive guide for building your own investment plan.

As I approached 30, I became a little worried about my future financial security. Not knowing much about the stock market, investing, IRAs and whatnot and being a do-it-yourself person, I went looking for a book that would help me in my financial planning. B.L. Gummow's book "Winning the Money Game Made Easy" jumped right out to me. I found this guide incredibly easy to read and use. Mr. Gummow, through a series of thoughtful relevant exercises, helped me evaluate my current financial situation and develop my own investment plan based on the things I want to achieve in my future. I had always felt that Wall Street symbols and jargon were very confusing. This book helped explain what things meant and empowered me to make my own decisions and not just regurgitated advice from co-workers and friends. I would highly recommend "Winning the Money Game Made Easy" to any self-starter who wants to make knowledgeable decisions about their future financial security.
