Online early health ill planning retirement tax through resources and information

It would be great if we could all retire with a nice portfolio of savings and pension income, without having to worry about paying the bills most retired people pay.

Yet...many retirees are living out their retirement on the breadline without much hope for even going on holiday without being assisted by relatives or even handouts. Don't let yourself be one of them...it's never too late!

Title : The New Golden Door to Retirement and Living in Costa Rica: A Guide to Inexpensive Living, Making Money and Finding Love in a Peaceful Tropical Paradise
Author : Christopher Howard
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great book--if you lack common sense

This book is great if are planning on traveling to Costa Rica as a tourist for a short amount of time; however, it really does not emcompass the complexity of moving or investing in a foreign country. Don't be fooled--this book lacks substinative information on starting a business in Costa Rica, other than the overarching message that "Not everything in the States will work in Costa Rica." Oh, really? My other favorite section was "How to Find a Nice Girl." After "interviewing hundreds of quality Costa Rican women" the author managed to whittle through the unrespectable, poor, uneducated women who were only after him for his money and find a nice girl. I guess the real shame is that he wasn't able to complete this process through a mail-order catalog.

Title : The Coming Generational Storm: What You Need to Know About America's Economic Future
Author : Laurence J. Kotlikoff
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Packed With Knowledge!

This volume is infinitely more thoughtful than most of the books that point to the expected insolvency of the Social Security system and pronounce that the fiscal sky is falling. After all, the U.S. economy has weathered plenty of fiscal crises before, but those in power have barely addressed this one. Authors Laurence J. Kotlikoff and Scott Burns ask you to realize that the government is saddling your children with unbearable debt. One by one, they strip away all the supposed answers to the demographic bulge and economic bust that characterize the impending mass retirement of the baby boom generation. They demonstrate that the dwindling number of working-age citizens simply will not be able to support the coming onslaught of retirees. The python has eaten the rabbit, but will it be able to swallow? Kotlikoff's "generational accounting" explains that government is running up charges on our kids' credit cards. And like any bill that doesn't get paid, this one will keep getting bigger. We recommend this nicely crafted book to all responsible citizens.

Title : How to Retire Rich
Author : James O'Shaughnessey
Rating : 2 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Started good, but then...

I don't know how to take this book. On the positive side, it offers seemingly reasonable investment strategies for inexperienced investors. At worst, the strategies are thought provoking. At best, they may be providing strategies that will make alot of people retire rich. On the negative side, I am skeptical of the author's intentions of writing this book. He sells mutual funds that implement the strategies (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but the funds have yearly fees of 1.5% each! That is very high for a passive fund. Why so high? All of a sudden, I want to stop reading. Finally, the book didn't teach me 250+ pages of info. It may be good for the new investor, but for one like me that has read a few books (but not done alot yet), it didn't offer alot of new insight. (I just can't get that 1.5% out of my head...)

Title : One World, Ready or Not
Author : Wil Greider
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : An Alarming But Accurate Perspective on the Global Economy

The Washington political elites repeatedly tell us how wonderful things are today; why does the American public have difficulty believing the message. Inspite of 8 years of economic growth, why is real median family income stagnant? Why is income polarization increasing across America and the entire world? Sadly, the American public is clueless to the economic forces reshaping the nation.

William Greider addresses the most important issue concerning America's economic future: the globalization of the economy and it's implications. In the new world order, capital is in limited supply but labor is in overabundance. As would be expected in a laizze faire economy, the cost of labor will remain depressed in the industrialized world.

In the developing nations across Asia and Latin America, the factory workers simply don't have the purchasing power to buy the products they are manufacturing. Since Japan has never matured into a consumer based society, developing nations especially China will add to the global oversupply of labor and production.

While few mainstream economists predicted the recent economic collapse of the 11th largest economy (ie. South Korea), William Greider's prediction of global economic chaos and collapse can no longer be ignored. "One World, Ready or Not" should be heeded by Washington policymakers mesmerized by the exuberance of the stock market.
