2004 5 state retirement pension rate

2004 5 state retirement pension rate

Online 2004 5 state retirement pension rate resources and information

It would be great if we could all retire with a nice portfolio of savings and pension income, without having to worry about paying the bills most retired people pay.

Yet...many retirees are living out their retirement on the breadline without much hope for even going on holiday without being assisted by relatives or even handouts. Don't let yourself be one of them...it's never too late!

Title : The Roth Ira Made Simple
Author : Gary R. Trock
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great tables to evaluate whether Roth or Traditional is best

I bought this book to help me prepare for seminars I presented on the Roth IRA. It gave a clear understanding of the rules for Roth contributions, but its greatest strength was the tables that let one compare the future benefits of Roth/Traditional IRA based on current and future tax brackets, rates of return, as well as present age. Another feature was dealing with the future value of what Gary calls "Opportunity Costs" when considering a conversion from traditional IRAs to Roth Conversion. Opportunity costs is the future value of the money that needs to be paid to the government when the IRA is converted. Again, current and future tax brackets, age, and rates of return are clearly presented. A must for anyone who really wants to get a grasp on the numbers and not just skim along the surface.

Title : 7 Ways to Beat the Pension Crisis
Author : Anthony Vice
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : useful advice

a useful little book that gives an up to date account of the current state of play in the pensions market and how to prepare for a more comfortable future - it's well laid out and easy to follow but there is still an assumption that the reader is not a complete novice when it comes to pensions - could have done with a glossary - the book contains some valuable ideas showing that the traditional weekly or monthly payments into an organised pension scheme is not the only way and that there are other ways of preparing for retirement, even if you have left it a bit late in your working life to plan and save

Title : The New Golden Door to Retirement and Living in Costa Rica: A Guide to Inexpensive Living, Making Money and Finding Love in a Peaceful Tropical Paradise
Author : Christopher Howard
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great, Great Book!

My husband and I found this book to be a godsend. It helped make our move to Costa Rica a lot easier and answered a lot of questions we had. We saved time and money by reading it. Even after living in Costa we refer to it occasionally. It was highly recommended to us by the Costa Rican Residents Association.

Title : Social Security Benefits Handbook (Social Security Benefits Handbook)
Author : Stanley A. Tomkiel
Rating : 2 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Boring

Sakes alive, I was bored out of my skull. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this book. I only got through the first chapter or two before my brain started going numb. I'm just 40, so what do I care anyhow. Man, what a waste of $20. Save yourself the pain if you are a youngster like me, and wait and see what transpires over the next decade as the debacle over social security unfolds.

Title : Secure Your Future: Financial Planning at Any Age (Successful Business Library)
Author : Chuck Tellalian
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Shows how debt affects net worth

The very good chapter here on determining your net worth helps emphasize the effect of debt on your planning and projections.
Michael Pellecchia

Title : You'Ve Earned It, Don't Lose It: Mistakes You Can't Afford to Make When You Retire
Author : Suze Orman
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Every woman's book on pitfalls in planning: Read this FIRST!

I grabbed this book on impulse, knowing that I have a bad track record with money management subjects. I thought it would be laying around gathering dust for awhile...

Was I surprised when I started reading the first page and then plowed right through it in 1-1/2 nights! So easy to read and understand. (The Wall St. Journal series, with all their glitzy colored pictures couldn't do what Suze did with her real-life stories as examples.) Maybe it's the woman's touch, but she got through to me. The whole picture of retirement issues and planning became clear.

I highly recommend this as a first book for financial planning -- it's NOT JUST ABOUT RETIREMENT, it's more about protecting women by arming them with vital information... every woman should READ THIS BOOK BEFORE MAKING ANOTHER DECISION involving money (or before someone makes one for her).

Title : Moving Mom and Dad!: Why, Where, How, and When to Help Your Parents Relocate (Revised)
Author : Sarah Morse
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Pragmatic approach also includes the emotional sub-text

This book is certainly a practical how-to manual on a subject, that would be all to easy to not consider. However, when the inevitable reality intrudes, this book allows you to begin to address an uncomfortable subject; in a very non-threatening, calm, and clear fasahion. While it is probably worth its purchase alone for its organizational approach and practical check lists. Its humor, warmth and a sense of the authors passion for thier subject matter made it for me, priceless. As an individual, who recalls only yesterday it seems, requesting the family car with some trepidation; hoping to cage a free tank of gas and not be given a curfew .The prospect of again asking for the keys, for an entirely diffrent reason was very disheartning. At least now I have some sense on how to approach these subjects with everyones dignity intact, and the continued respect of my parents. Additionaly, this book will have you consideringhow you will avoid all of these complications with your own family, when you become the subjects in the books title.
